A couple of ODK source code questions

Hi!

I have to compile an apk with some modifications to the ODK Collect app. They include links/images, help & helpdesk access and a fixed aggregate url and such.

I've downloaded ODK Collect from Google Play and it's on the 1.4.7 (r1053) version.

Now, I didn't find the source code for this version.

On https://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse?repo=collect last tag is 1.4.6 for testing. This other repo https://github.com/opendatakit/collect says 'preparing for 1.4.8 release' but this is for Android Studio, correct?

Do I need Eclipse + ADT + A SDK or Android Studio to modify and compile a new apk? (I have both). All the information I've got is misleading me. I'm aware I need extra packages (google services ie).

And the last question. To whoever wrote a derived work of ODK, Can I change the ODK Collect logo and some UI Elements? Its the first time I need to use an open source app to make another and as far as I know the Apache License it's ok with that but I want to be sure.

Thanks if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm lost with all these. And sorry for my language.

Please don't repeat questions.
Most of these were answered in my reply to your largely-similar earlier
question.

And don't expect an instantaneous response.

We generally look at the list once daily, excluding weekends and holidays
and vacation days.

You can do whatever you want with the software.
It is licensed under the Apache2 license.

Mauro,

Mitch is correct, but you should also read the license because it's
pretty straight-forward.

is also a good resource.

And while you don't have to, we certainly appreciate it when you
mention that your app is based on ODK and include links back to the
website.

With the ODK 2.0 tools, we have some UI elements licensed under the
creative commons license.

These require full attribution in any containing or derivative works.

You need to be more careful and not just, for example, comment out our
licensing page in those tools.
