A few questions

Hi

I am quite green to the ODK and would like to implement it for an upcoming
study.
Questions are about ODK - Aggregate.

  1. It is possible to use a MySQL database that in not local(but on a online
ISP) to which to send the data from ODK -Collect? Am guessing it will need
the Tomcat. How does the ODK - Aggregate get installed in such a case
  2. When data is stored on the X.appspot.com, in what form is it stored. Are
there any APIs that are available to retrieve the data (Zend[PHP] etc)?

I know this are basic novice questions but them also in basic language as
my learning curve progresses?

Hi Quentin,

  1. You can install Aggregate on GAE or on some other cloud service
(i.e., AWS, Linode, Heroku) backed by Tomcat with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

  2. The wiki has lots of information on database structure and ODK
APIs. You can also use the export to Google Spreadsheets or Fusion
tables and build something off those platforms.
