Aggregate 1.3 Publish to Google Spreadsheets Issue

Hi All,

I am have a problem enabling publishing to google apreadsheets for 2 ODK
1.3 Instances.

I have followed these
instruction: http://opendatakit.org/use/aggregate/oauth2-service-account/

When I then attempt to publish data to google spreadsheets I receive this
error message:

Error: RequestFailureException
(com.google.gdata.util.InvalidEntryException: We're sorry, a server error
occurred. Please wait a bit and try reloading your spreadsheet. GDataInvalidEntryExceptionWe're
sorry, a server error occurred. Please wait a bit and try reloading your
spreadsheet. )

This has been happening for a little while, in the previous version of
aggregate this work perfectly but since I installed v.1.3 I've been unable
to link to google spreadsheets.

Any ideas? The instance is hosted on google app engine.

Hi just to follow this up I have now recreated my key 3 times and have
managed to get rid of this error however the export to Google Spreadsheets
still isn't working and now when I load the website I receive attached
error message.

This is proving to be a pain as I now have to manually share data back to
enumerators where as previously it was visible immediately.

I have 2 potential fixes:

(1) You are trying to publish data when authenticated as a Google Apps
Domain user. This will not work. If you are doing this, let me know. I now
have a fix to test (thanks to the Google I/O conference)... .

(2) Forms with repeat groups may have difficulty publishing into Fusion
Tables when there are no rows in the repeat groups; a form may also fail to
publish into Fusion Tables if there is a field whose first non-symbol
character is a digit. e.g., _3_times, -2-choices. In this case, try the
installer with fixes for these two issues here:
http://homes.cs.washington.edu/~msundt/aggregate/

And 2 open issues:

(a) I am also aware of a duplicate-insertions issue (though I expect this
is more likely to be an issue for instances hosted on AppEngine). If you
encounter this on a Fusion Tables publisher, you can mitigate it by
disabling fast publishing on the Site Admin / Preferences tab. This will
significantly slow publishing. If you have this problem, let me know;
there is a parameter value I would like to tune to see if it can eliminate
the problem.

(b) I think I've seen a failure with Google Spreadsheets that I have not
yet identified; it seems to be timing-dependent issue as it sometimes
happens, sometimes does not.

I will be focused on some work for ODK Survey / ODK Tables this coming
week, then will be off on vacation Thursday through the following Friday,
returning June 3rd.

If the Survey / Tables work goes quickly, these issues are next up on my
priority list.

tomcat instance. unable to post to spreadsheets or fusion tables.

Only way I got round it was to share with gmail user then share that doc
within my googleapps domain..

Hi,

I am having a similar issue.

The error message I received when trying to publish to a google docs is:
Error: RequestFailureException (No OAuth2 credentials. Have you supplied any OAuth2 credentials on the Site Admin / Preferences page?)

Did you determine the issue causing this? I'm having the same problem,
same error message, also hosted on google app engine.

(b) I think I've seen a failure with Google Spreadsheets that I have not yet identified; it seems to be timing-dependent issue as it sometimes happens, sometimes does not.

I will be focused on some work for ODK Survey / ODK Tables this coming week, then will be off on vacation Thursday through the following Friday, returning June 3rd.

If the Survey / Tables work goes quickly, these issues are next up on my priority list.

If publishing does not work, the work-around is to use ODK Briefcase to download the data set to your computer, Export as CSV, then import those into Google Spreadsheet or Fusion Tables. I know -- Highly manual and very tedious and annoying.

My current speculation is that you may need to grant access for your
service account to your apps domain.

Something to try (and let me know if it makes any difference):

I.e., go to http://code.google.com/apis/console

Click on API access.

Copy the e-mail address for the Service Account you created.

Mitch,
I am publishing to a gmail account (not a google apps account). I just
went through the process again of assigning Google API credentials, first
deleting and generating a new API key, Client ID, and email address. I
receive a message that it was successful, but still get the same error
message when I attempt to publish.

I was successfully publishing to Google Spreadsheet prior to updating to
Aggregate 1.3.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!
