Any tips for migrating data from an old form into a new form

Hi all,
I have a sneaky feeling that the partners I am working with will want to
modify/add to the questionnaire we currently have running. I understand
this creates a new "database" and am looking for the easiest way to keep
things running.
Could anyone recommend the easiest way to load previous instances into a
new form -- preferably offline? Say for example that only one new field
was created but I wanted to load in 100 old instances?
Thanks!
Bill

The core ODK tools assume that the merging of survey data with different
questions is done outside of the ODK tools. I.e., ODK Aggregate holds the
data of record from the data-collection efforts. You publish that to other
services or export it to CSV files. Then in those services, or in Excel,
you do the merging.

Note that if you publish data into Google Fusion Tables, it has a CREATE
VIEW command which allows you to fold together multiple datasets into one
consistent view. We use that for creating a flat presentation of forms with
repeat groups.
