Autocomplete widget in ODK Collect

Dear all ODK Developers,

I'm trying to find the way to use AutoComplete widget in ODK Collect, but i
cannot find it. I'm trying to search in this group but it seems like that i
don't get enough information. Could you guide me to do that.

mistaken ODK disable their autocomplete widget, which you can still easily
enable back but you have to recompile the source back yourself

Autocomplete has subtle data loss issues, which is why it was removed.

Hello,
I would like to know if there has been progress on the "Autocomplete widget".
This is currently the major obstacle to our use of ODK Collect.
(lists with hundreds of values, sometimes thousands, and impossible to easily fill in ODK).

Autocomplete will not happen unless there are major changes to the
core. Your best bet is to use preloading and external itemsets.
