Autofill Field #2 Based on Selection from Field #1?

Hello

I found this discussionhttps://groups.google.com/d/topic/opendatakit/_DdoO_ENhSI/discussion which is from over a year ago and was wondering if anything had changed
with the ability to autofill fields.

We are really looking for two different options:
1 - Fill in a "Select One" spinner with options that are retrieved from an
online database.

2- Autofill a text field, based on a selection from a previous spinner.

I looked at this roadmap http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/Roadmap,
but despite the "last updated" date, the info there seems a bit stale.

Anyone know anything about this?

Select One from a database cannot be implemented until a blocking
Javarosa bug is fixed. The bug is outlined at
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/detail?id=289. The fix is
non-trivial, so might be good to ask about the best approach on
javarosa-developers@googlegroups.com.

As far as autofilling text fields, the best you can do now is add a
value to a prompt label. You can also use a calculate to fill a node.

Age is

If neither of these are adequate, please file a feature request
detailing the functionality you are looking for.
