Briefcase API docs for authentication

Hi, we have successfully designed a system that sends an XML form through CURL/PHP to ODK Aggregate using the Briefcase formUpload API. This works fine if AnonymousUser is given the Form manager role. However, we want to restrict access to Aggregate and want to remove Anynymous User permissions, so I was wondering if there is any documentation on the system that is used in Briefcase for authentication to Aggregate? Any example code that uses CURL?

Thanks,

Guillaume

Authentication is via DigestAuth http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2617

ODK Aggregate supported other auth modes, but two of those were just shut
off by Google...
