I am noticing that there are a few requests for a calendar / date picker /
scheduler (issues 635, 638 185). I am writing one and think that it might
be a good addition to the collect module. I am thinking many doctors wish
to do charting based on appointments and might not always have internet
access. I noticed that Android 2.1 does not have a date/time calendar
(http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-3.0-highlights.html).
I found that the QT framework has a port for Android (Necessitas) and
thought about making a calendar with four different tabs for day, week, and
month calendar and settings that consist of time zones and adjust for
daylight savings time. Do you such a widget would be an asset to this
project?
ODK Collect 1.2.x is targeted for Android 2.1 and higher. If you find or
write a calendar widget that can run across those devices, we'd love to
incorporate it into the ODK Collect codebase.
Use of the Qt library, however, is not going to work. Qt either requires a
commercial license or enforces an LGPL license -- something we are
expressly avoiding for ODK tools.
Acceptable licenses (both for code you contribute and any libraries you
need) are:
- Apache 2
- MIT
- BSD
- Eclipse
