Cascading select within repeat workaround

Hi, Mitch.

Would just like to let you know that I was able to workaround the problem
with cascading selects within repeat. I followed the instructions on
"External Itemsets" from the ODK Help page and edited the sample
cascading_select_external_itemsets.xml file. I inserted group tags in the
instance section (open and close 'address' tags) and did the same in the
body section, I inserted group and repeat tags. Here's the edited xml file.

Just wanted to share in case others need a workaround on the subject.

Thanks,

Vinia

Hi. Just wondering why this didn't get through. Was this post moderated?
Just wanted to know if this was not posted because the workaround didn't
work for others.

Thanks

Dear Vinia,
Thanks so much for posting your workaround. that is what i have been looking for since yesterday. i have one question to ask you:
in the instruction given in the external itemsets, it is said "In the <bind nodset="..." change the type="select1" to type="string" for any of your new itemsets". However in examples of yours and Mitch's, you both remain the "select1" for the type of for first nodeset of "state". could you tell me the reason?
Regards
Zaixing
