Images and video were released in Collect v2026.3. We have just released a new [beta for v2026.4](https://forum.getodk.org/t/odk-collect-v2026-4-beta-new-map-engine-reworked-form-download/58665) that adds a preview for geotrace questions: ![image](https://getodk.b-cdn.net/uploads/default/original/3X/7/0/70289a5641d708ef9c64431b86a5d43928d503ea.png) ![image](https://getodk.b-cdn.net/uploads/default/original/3X/2/0/209422615993012278917d5badd7b00f41556887.png) This is an image snapshot that can't be interacted with. It sets the zoom level such that all points of the trace are displayed. If no data connectivity is available, the trace is displayed on a gray background. The basemap used for this preview is the one configured in settings. Currently Google Maps basemaps are not supported but this will be addressed before release. Vertices are not displayed to make it clear that they can't be edited. We intend to add this functionality for geoshape as well before release. We don't currently plan to to this for geopoints. Our reasoning is: - The most important information for geopoints is the accuracy. Data collectors should be aiming for a high-accuracy point. - When no connectivity is available, seeing a trace or shape is still useful because you can tell how many points it has, what it's shape is, etc. A point is always a point. - In all contexts except for dense urban environments, the basemap for a point is unlikely to give a lot of useful information. Instead, we have reworked the geopoint display to use [decimal degrees](https://forum.getodk.org/t/show-geopoint-summary-in-decimal-degree-format-rather-than-in-degrees-minutes-seconds/36431/15).
