just testing ODK platform for some surveys and I'm looking to customize the colors and background of the survey. Also, are there any other options to create slider bars (each point has a value) or more rich graphical elements in ODK? any documentation you can forward me to?

Hi,
There is no easy way to customize colors and backgrounds in ODK
Collect. ODK Survey (from the new generation of ODK tools) has support
for all sorts of formatting, but it's still under active development
and not ready for public consumption. ODK Collect also doesn't have
support for slider bars, but it'd be pretty easy to add.
If you'd like either of these features in ODK Collect, file a feature
request at http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/ and perhaps someone
in the community will build it. Alternatively, you can hire a
developer from http://opendatakit.org/help/help-for-hire/ to build it
for you.
