Completed forms in instance folder

Hi,

When I attach my Android to laptop via USB cord and look in the ODK folder
and then in the instances folder, I do not find all the completed forms.
The first time I noticed this, I wound up installing a system update to
the Android and lo and behold all the missing completed forms then showed
up in the instance folder. Now I have completed more forms (and there is
not another system update to install) but they do not appear in the
instances folder. Any ideas? I would like to pull all completed forms

Thanks!

Susie

This is a problem with the device driver on Windows. I don't know of a
reliable way to get all the files to become visible on Windows.

If anyone has a repeatable reliable way to do this, please share it with
the rest of us!

Thanks, Mitch! So this would not be a problem on a Mac? Would it work
with Windows if I was using an Android that actually had an SD card? Just
trying to figure out what my options are as offline completed form transfer
to laptop will be essential for our project.

I don't think there is 'an answer'. In my experience, it is simply a bit
quirky.

The older 2.x file sharing mechanism was rock solid, but the 3.x and 4.x
file sharing mechanisms seem to be a bit buggy, at least on the devices I
use, and on the drivers I use when writing the ODK software. I don't know
if that is because Google is releasing the latest-and-greatest (buggy) code
to the developers, if it is because I am developing on the phone, or if it
is an issue with the code on the phone. Sometimes it just works, sometimes
connecting and disconnecting works, sometimes power cycling the phone
works, sometimes I need to shut down my development tools and/or reboot my
laptop.

I work on Windows, so I cannot say what the Mac experience is.
