Complex workflow with ODK Collect possible?

Dear ODKers,
In my scenario, I am doing a 3 part survey, each part different enough
from the other to warrant that it be done in a separate room of the
same building, i.e respondents move from one room to the next, then
finally to the third room. However some of the answers they give in a
previous room are relevant in another room. Does ODK cater for a
scenario of this type, pre-filling forms with data collected from
another form? Or do you my fellow ODKers have any advice for how I can
accomplish this scenario?

Thanks in advance,
Tumaini

easiest (non-code) way to accomplish this is to give recipients the
phone to take from room to room. you can have a output (read only)
form prompt that asks the enumerator to save the form. the next
enumerator can continue it when they get to the next room.

an alternative might be to use http://www.groupcomplete.com. i know
the matt adams (the founder of group complete) is on this list. maybe
he can describe if it'd work in this scenario.

Tumaini:

groupcomplete.com will allow your enumerators to share forms across
different devices and would avoid the need to physically move the
devices between rooms, which may or may not be an issue depending on
your survey and various other constraints.

It does not have a feature for pre-filling forms with data collected
from other forms but would allow your enumerators to save a partially
filled out form that could be resumed by the next person and then
aggregated using ODK or Group Complete's own aggregation features once
the survey has been completed.

The best way to accomplish this using Group Complete would be to
organize the three parts of your survey into separate groups within the
same form.

Group Complete is fully compatible with the same XForms that ODK uses
and also hooks into ODK Aggregate.

Feel free to email support@groupcomplete.com if you have more questions
about Group Complete.

Cheers,

Matt
