Crash when changing answer to any select one questions

Hello

Whenever I change the answer to a select one question, ODK collect crashes
and returns to the main menu. I can input an answer, but the crash always
occurs when changing to a different answer. It does not occur when changing
multiple choice answers, numbers or strings.

Any ideas where to look for the bug ?

The form is quite long, containing about 1100 rows in excel format, and 4
repeat loops. Previous iterations of this form did not have this problem.

Many thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

Are you able to email me the xls form? Does the error happen on any
select_one or a specific question?

regards

Neil

Problem solved !!

It was an error introduced in a new version of the ODK Collect app,
affecting all 'select_one' commands. A newer update has now been released.

Thanks anyhow Neil

Hi Jim,

Just wanted to give you a quick explanation of the process we use to
manage crashes when a new version is released.

When we push out a release, we watch the Play Store and GitHub for any
crash reports. If the crash reports are detailed enough to help us
replicate the issue, we can usually push out a fix in hours.

To make sure more of these regressions are caught before we release,
we've started the hard work of adding unit tests to the codebase. We
are hoping that over the next few months, these tests will help
drastically reduce the number of crashes.

All this is to say, our goal is for ODK Collect to never crash. If it
does crash, please, please, please file an issue at

Thanks,

Yaw
