Hi, we would like to change the "labels" of the buttons at the entry page,
as well add our logo to it. Thanks!

Maurizio,

Changing button text and the like are straight forward, but you will
need to be somewhat technical. Try getting
http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/hello-world.html to
work on a phone and if that goes fine, you'll be able to modify
Collect.

As Collect is a standard Android app, all you have to do is edit the
various strings in
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse/res/values/strings.xml?repo=collect.

The Collect icon is at
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse/res/drawable-hdpi/notes.png?repo=collect.
Alternatively, you can use Collect's preferences to load a splash
screen from the SD card.

Note that most of these changes require you to maintain your own build
of ODK Collect, but the changes are minor enough that it shouldn't be
too much work.

If I got it right that means that I do not need to recompile the

I'm also interested in modifying ODK Collect. I have had difficulty
getting it to work from source though. Everything works fine when I
install Collect from the .apk or from the market; however, the app
crashes from nearly everything except starting up when I install from
source. I would greatly appreciate an explanation of the process I
need to follow to create an Eclipse project that installs identically
to the .apk. Thanks!

Please ask questions like this on (only) the opendatakit-developers@ list.

Beginning with the latest Android SDK, the Google Eclipse Plugin now pays
attention to the "Properties / Java Build Path / Order and Export"
settings. You need to ensure that the check boxes for the libraries shown
there are all checked except for the Google APIs and Android Dependencies.

Updated Eclipse project files will be checked into the tree as time permits.

deployed onto your computer. If you can't you've got other problems to
