Displaying tables within field-list

Hello,
I'm trying to group sections of my survey on one page by using field-list in XLSform. This is working great, until I try adding a table (table-list) within the field-list. I keep getting the error "Only questions are allowed in 'field-list'" in ODK collect. I assume that the field-list isn't accepting the "group" that is needed to define the table. Is there a way around this? I looked through ODK community posts and haven't been able to find any solutions. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Tonya

No.

The layout capabilities of ODK Collect are very limited.

A screen consists of a container of field widget(s) placed vertically.
There is no capability to nest containers (which is what doing this would
require).
