Documentation for future evolution of OpenRosa?

I am in process of developing an android app to collect data for a very
complex survey -- far beyond the capability of ODK collect. We will use
OpenRosa to send the collected data to our somewhat-customized formhub
server. From reading the mail here I can see that OpenRosa is evolving away
from XML toward use of JSON. This sounds exactly like what I was thinking
for my custom app. "Great minds run in the same channels" as the saying
goes.

So, is there documentation, or a discussion group, or a person to contact,
or something -- so that the customizations I make to formhub will be in
step with the new evolution so that they can be incorporated into a new
release version someday?

Let me clarify that OpenRosa is not moving away from XML, instead Open Data
Kit is moving away from XML, more specifically OpenRosa/JavaRosa XForms.
Open Data Kit is creating a completely new underlying description in JSON
to replace the role that XForms play in Open Data Kit.

To make it easier for people to understand ODK Collect will remain based on
XForms while our new tool called ODK Survey will be based on the new more
flexible JSON representation that the ODK team is working on. You can see
all the source code on ODK google code website.

I will let Mitch point you to the most appropriate documentation. He would
be the one to contact but it's also fine to discuss on this forum because
it is part of open data kit development.
