Empty "meta instanceID" column after copying a submission to another form

Hi all,

I'm trying to copy data from an old form to a new one using sql query.
These forms are almost identical (the second one has more columns).

It seems to work as I can see copied submissons in ODK Aggregate in the new form's submission list. But there is one strange thing - "meta instanceID" column is empty for all manually moved submissions.

When I turn on "Display metadata" flag, I can see additional columns where meta-instance-id is filled with the "_URI" value from the CORE table. I expected the same for the "meta instanceID" column...

Does ODK Aggregate keep "meta instanceID" for submissions not in the CORE table but in some other place? Where could it be?

Should I expect any other problems moving/copying submissions from one form to another?

The _URI column of the COREnn table is the "meta-instance-id" value in
the tabular display; this is the primary key (PK) for these tables which
are joined to form a wide row.

There is also another column, most likely in one of the COREnn tables, that
is the field value ("meta instanceID" in the tabular
display). This will typically be a column named "META_INSTANCE_ID".

Back in the dark ages, a unique ID () was not provided
automatically when creating a form.

Now, if it is provided, ODK Aggregate will copy and use
as the PK in its tables (_URI). But if it isn't, it will generate a unique
ID itself for the submission.

Hi Mitch,

I didn't manage to search this column between those which hold data.
Now I found "META_INSTANCE_ID" in the middle of the table - very unexpected

Many thanks!
