Following the instructions as specified in ODK, I went through the
following steps to get the app working on my mobile phone (nexus
one).
We took the following steps till sending forms to the server.
ODK Build : I set up a simple survey which asks users for gps
location, text, choices, etc..
ODK Aggregate: To set up the aggregate server, I used steps 1 to 6
under section Installing an App engine instance as explained at : http://opendatakit.org/use/aggregate/
An App Engine instance of ODK Aggregate is now available under my
name and I can see the xforms built under ODK build.
I followed the steps under : http://opendatakit.org/use/collect/ to
have the apk on my android and by specifying the server preferences, I
could access the built forms from the aggregate and there we no
problems navigating and filling out.
However after step 4 I am getting a server 500 error when sending the
filled out forms back to the aggregate. Do you have any ideas what
could be preventing me from sending the filled out forms to the http://my-app-id.appspot.com.
I can send the xml file if needed but I am pretty sure this has nothng
to do with the actual problem.
For the purposes of submitting the data I did the following tests:
what version of aggregate and collect are you using? is your phone connection going through any proxies? does it fail on all networks (wifi, 3g, grps)?
