Hi group,

I would like to separate my exported data based on time they were submitted
to aggregate. Can someone tell me how to include the metadata in exports
from aggregate to excel?

Thanks!

Rachel

There was a bug that prevented this from working in earlier versions and in
the current version, it is a little quirky.
Be sure you are running the very latest ODK Aggregate (check the version on
the Site Admin / Preferences page).

To include the metadata in the export:

(1) go to the "Submissions" tab displaying your form data
(2) Click 'Display metadata'
Ideally, at this point, you would click 'Save' and be done creating a
filter that displayed the metadata. However, this gives an error about
there not being at least one filter. So...
(3) Click "Add Filter"
(4) choose "Display" "Rows" where "_meta-is-complete_" "equals" true
(this has no effect on the result set because no other value is possible
for this metadata field -- the queries that display rows already apply
exactly this filter clause)
(5) Click "Apply Filter"
(6) Click "Save" and name your filter something like "All data including
metadata"

Now, choose Export, select this filter as the filter to apply to the
export, and proceed to generate the CSV file.
That will now contain the metadata.

This same filter can be used to publish the metadata to an external
service, etc.

1.2 is the latest version; the steps I outlined should therefore work.

The latest software is available at
[http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/downloads/list](http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/downloads/list)
See the release notes under the wiki tab for the upgrade steps for that
software.
