FAIL - Application at context path /ODKAggregate could not be started

Hello,

I am running Apache Tomcat 7 with java 8 and xampp server on windows 7. I
am trying to install ODKaggregate but I get this error message
HTTP Status 404 - /ODKAggregate. The ODKaggregate appn. is loaded in
tomcat but doesn't start and when I start it in tomcat manager, I get this *" FAIL

  • Application at context path /ODKAggregate could not be started" *I need
    assistance. Thanks

Read your Tomcat logs for clues on what the problem is.

And, if you are still unable to get things to work, use Tomcat 6 and Java
7. Figure out how to get that to work, then try Tomcat 7; Tomcat 7 requires
some extra config.

Read the docs: https://opendatakit.org/use/aggregate/tomcat-install/

Java 8 is not yet supported for ODK Aggregate (AppEngine has problems with
Java 8 and Spring Framework 4.x).

Focus on one or the other install.

For the MySQL install, look in the tomcat6-stdout... file. Look down for
WARNING or ERROR or SEVERE entries. What do you see?

i.e., you did not install the MySQL Connector/J library in the Tomcat libs
directory. See the instructions for database installation here:

For the Google AppEngine install, it looks like you have either a bad
day/time configured on your system or bad certificate files that prevent
establishing an https:// connection to a host.
