There are two independent things going on:
(1) during the running of the upload script, the e-mail account must either not have two-factor authentication, or you must create and use an application-specific password during the upload. That is expected, and it sounds like you have figured out a work-around.
(2) when running the installer, it is not placing any files in the designated ODKAggregate folder.
w.r.t. (2), this is unusual behavior. if you have Java 7 installed correctly, a possible cause is that you are trying to create this folder in a protected part of the computer, such as under C:\Program Files or under C:\Windows or in your Settings folder. The installer is not installing anything on your computer, but simply configuring and creating files in this output folder, and then running the upload script in that folder to upload the files to Google AppEngine. To eliminate the possibility of a permissions issue causing this problem, it is best to place the files in a folder under your Documents ("My Documents") folder.
If Java 7 is not correctly installed, you could get this problem, but an error should occur much earlier in the installer, preventing you from ever reaching the "Finish" screen.
With Windows systems, if the installer does not work when placing the folder under your Documents directory, I generally advise using a different computer to run the installer, as there are so many ways in which the history of various updates and installers can cause things to break.

Hi Mitch,
I use windows. I installed it as you said by double click.
I also installed Java 7 before installed Aggregate.
Is it possible that the following is the problem:
The upload of script failure since protection of my email. Then I rollbacked, disabled email protection, re-uploaded, then it succeeded.
I installed before in another computer. Same failure of the script upload was encountered. And I found the outcome--same ODK Aggregate folder and empty.
What I can not understand is this time I correct the problem-the email protection-but still get same outcome.
Hope the above description can provide some clue for you to help to find the obstacles.
Best.
