Geo: Optimizing zoom levels for walking surveyors

I have had users ask if the default zoom can be changed, as for them to change zoom requires removing then replacing gloves, but if the zoom is already at the desired level they can use the tablet stylus to pan / create geoshape. The current default isn't close enough for the precision of markup being used with geoshapes over layout drawings.

Given the options;

• Change default zoom level for geopoint/geotrace/geoshape to fixed zoom level x
• Set default zoom level in form (form settings or a parameter for each question?)
• Remember last used zoom level

I like 'remember the last used zoom level' best as it will best suit each user, similar to how the image annotation pen colour is remembered. Failing that, a form wide or question specific parameter would be ok

Another recent request for zoom +/- buttons (which were present on certain base layers) and a default / last-used zoom level

• plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to zoom in addition to the fingers, which are not always easy to use, especially on small screens
• to be able to define the initial zoom level of the map and above all to have the possibility of keeping the previous zoom level, in particular in selection loops. (we select trees quite close to each other and it is painful to resize each time)
