I want to give a quick update here because although the thread has been quiet, there has been movement on this front. @seadowg and I have taken some steps back and have been exploring options for adding multitenancy to Collect. I think that there's broad agreement that this is where we want to go so we want to make sure that whatever initial features we add for exactly mirroring forms on a server gets us closer to that.
With that design work mind, we're now back to thinking through a client setting for Collect to do the form list matching. The biggest change to the initial post above that we have in mind is that instead of using Get Blank Form, this feature would hide Get Blank Form and push form synchronization to Fill Blank Form. We're still working through all the different cases and the user experience but wanted to give a little preview. Our goal is to get this into the next Collect release so that we can get more users trying it out and providing feedback while also gathering analytics. It will be entirely opt-in: no workflow changes without an explicit setting change.
