If you are a ODK Collect developer... would you consider this small but
important request which may help all deaf persons in the world learn to
read? The His Hands Reader project needs a simple fix to the ODK Collect
code in order to provide the HIGHEST video quality in surveys.
Yaw sized up the requirement when he states...
Collect does not explicitly set video quality and I think that's why
Android defaults to low quality. It's a pretty easy fix -- the core team
just needs to add the EXTRA_VIDEO_QUALITY=1 intent extra to the video
widget, and maybe add a preference for folks to be able to get low quality
video.
If someone makes the changes, including the General Settings option to
select an image resolution, we will integrate the changes into the main
codebase.

I failed to mention... His Hands Reader uses ODK surveys to collect the
video of hand signs from deaf volunteers in developing countries from
around the world. These survey video inputs are used to make a video
dictionary using their hand signs.
These deaf volunteers spend 25 hours to take video of all their hand signs
for the HHR video dictionary. It seems a waste for them to volunteer the
25 hours capturing their hand signs using the lower resolution setting.
Thanks for your help to add the small code change that will let their phone
capture the hand signs at maximum quality.
