Help

Dear Team,

Greetings,

I have been using ODK to develop data entry application but I have fail to
do the following things,

1: Is there a way to display a certain items in multiple selection question
depend on previous question?

The first question is “District Name”

2nd to display only division of the mention above district

2:after entering household member is there a way to display household
member names in a select question?

Regards,
Silas Temu

I think you're looking for "cascading select". Not currently supported but
try out the KoBo build which supports it.

What am I doing wrong here?

I'm sorry, I haven't encountered that error yet.

How are you using it? Inside repeats or groups? Try a simple test first.

To clarify

"Nevermind. I'm stupid, I didn't realize this was for xlsform. I figured
out how to do it in an xform"

The formulas from xforms should work with xlsform, as xlsform just
generates the xform. If there is something that isn't working quite right
let us know and we will see what we can do to fix it.

No there is no problem, it was entirely my mistake I was trying to use the
xlsform (excel) syntax in my xform. When I did transform an xls into an
xform I did find the solution I was looking for.

I do not really know what output requires, I am just trying around with ODK
to see if we could use it.

Having entries from previous questions appear as items in a select question
would be a neat thing, but it doesn't seem to be possible. At least not
with the output command.

Tumaini, you said it was possible, could you explain how you do it?

Thanks
