How to Store Biometric Data

Hello ODKers,
I have a survey where one of the processes of completing the survey is
to take the participants fingerprint. Is it possible to integrate this
into my ODK survey? how would this be done?

Thanks in advance,
Tumaini

you need to get a usb enabled fingerprint scanner, make sure it works
on android, and build the appropriate widget in collect.

the only fingerprint scanner for android i know off is
http://www.innovatescan.com/hardware/bluefin/ ($500). if you can get
one of those, it shouldn't be too hard for you to add the widget into
collect.

Thanks for the response... when you say "and build the appropriate widget in
collect", what does this entail? are there examples you can point me to for
building sidgets for ODK Collect?

Thanks in advance,
Tumaini

take a look at the source for the barcode or geopoint or image widget.
you'd have to implement something like that...
