it is possible to introduce an automatic numbering continues in a specific
question at XForms ?

thanks

hi renan,

what do you mean by automatic numbering continues? maybe you can give
us an example of what two or three of those prompts would look like?

Thanks Yaw... for your attention!!!!

we are conducting a forest inventory, and we have a numbering remains of
individuals sampled (ie: a tree, tree 2, tree 3, tree ... 500)

such as auto-increment: the first instance (tree number 1) already receive a
numbered and can* be see in *cell phone interface, so the next instance
would automatically continue (previous numbering +1) = 2.

is possible to enable see this numbering automatically for every instance?

this is helpful to eliminate 1 question for Xforms and allow easier the
field collect!!!

Thanks,

Renan

I have/had a similar need and simply infer it from 'start' time stamps so
don't even need it on the form. Maybe that approach would work for you.

currently, there is no easy way to increment across different
instances (or form filling sessions).

the widgets and eimci forms are good places to start. see
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse?repo=forms

for example, if you want prompt_b to be relevant when prompt_a is
greater than 6, you'd do something like

the trick is that < > don't work since the forms are in xml. you need
to use the url safe versions (< > &lt=; &gt=;)
