Introduce yourself here!

Hi ODK users!
I am Jessica, a spanish oceanographer and nature lover interested in ecosystem dynamics, fisheries science, natural resource management and the human dimensions of natural resource exploitation.

I did my Bachellor's in Marine Science (Oceanography) at the University of Vigo (Spain), completing internships at the Autonomous University of Baja Califronia (Mexico) and the Algarve University (Portugal). I followed my dream and came to Australia to do my masters degree in Fisheries Biology and Management (James Cook University- ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies), and here I remain, currently doing my PhD. Want to know more? Check my research groups! Ecological modelling group at JCU ; ARC CoE for Coral Reef Studies; or follow me on twitter! @JZamborainMason

My first experience with ODK was a few weeks ago, when my supervisor's team told me they needed to complete social surveys in a remote island in Papua New Guinea. Since then, we have been designing the surveys and the more I learn about ODK the more I like it!

Thank you for designing ODK and happy to join this community!

I am a retired professor who conducted visitor exit survey analysis on Guam for many years. I am interested in a similar (2014) survey that used fomhub.org.
Ran into dead end searching for this and ended up here...if anyone can point me to information I would appreciate it.

Hello all,
My name is Arpan and I am a researcher based out of Pune, India. I don't think I can be of much help to the community since my basic expertise is Economics and Policy- so the source code has nothing to fear!

I got introduced to ODK as a tool for primary data collection at my previous organisation (Jana Urban foundation) where we collected data from small business owners to carry out volume estimation, formalisation of enterprises, lead generation etc. I plan to introduce my current organisation (Watershed Organisation Trust) to ODK. These guys use paper-based surveys which I thought was the worst way to collect data. ODK saves time for data entry and cleaning (to an extent).

You can follow me @arpangolechha on Twitter. Although, I must say, I am not very active there. I am, however, an avid reader, I write poems and prose and love philosophy and politics. Hope to engage further.

Arpan

Fun Fact: Sarcasm and comedy are my two defining traits. So, please do not mind a little sass.

Hello world!

I am a marine ecologist and PhD student in Wales (UK) learning social science and ODK for the first time. I hope to use mobile technology to run some beach user questionnaires this summer.

I love the sea, the mountains, diving, my friends and family. People are fascinating too.

I am a technophobe but slowly getting to grips with the 21st century and really hope that I don't bore you all with too many basic questions.

Thanks for a great forum.. I've already been using it for my ODK research.

Hi All,

I am Esnart from Zambia. I work for the Disaster Management. I recently developed xforms for a research project for my institution. we collect data on various issues of vulnerability from community members using ODK in order to avoid huge paper work to be analysed as it takes up too much time. I hope to work well with this ODK community.

Thank you
