Is it possible to invoke fingerprint scanning app from ODK Collect?

Hi,

We are working on adding a form to our ODKCollect based app and we need to
capture finger prints in this form. It will be very helpful if i get to
know the following -

  1. Is it possible to invoke the fingerprint scanning app within ODK Collect
i.e. in the form created with xlsform?
  2. If it's possible, would that app need to be based on ODK Sensors
framework or is it possible to invoke any app which can provide input for
the form field capturing the fingerprints?
  3. Is there any other way out to capture fingerprints (or any other type of
    biometric data) in ODKCollect?

Thanks,
Yeshasvi

This would require an app that interacted with the fingerprint scanner and
provided the collected identity information back to ODK Collect.

Thank you Mitch, i will try invoking an app from ODK Collect as suggested
in the link you shared.

Is there any sample app available to follow and any reference to learn how
to do it with xlsform?

Thanks,
Yeshasvi
