Launch external app from xlsform

Does xlsform currently support the ability to launch an external app? Currently I build the form and then change small sections to call an external app / reference it.

For example I add the following under translations:

Press button to generate label Press the button below to generate a unique ID that you should record Unique ID generator Unique ID app was not found

I then call the external app in the form by referencing:

Would be quite nice to not have to edit the form each time I make a change. Does anyone know if this is possible with xlsforms?
