Hi People,
Could someone kindly assist with troubleshooting this error "can't upgrade
read-only database from version 3 to 4:
/storage/emulated/0/odk/metadata/instances.db".
I'm trying to open a project on ODK.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Cheers!!
Hi Tom,
If you've installed any ODK-based apps (e.g., KoboCollect, GeoODK, Ona
Collect) uninstall them. Then reboot and see if ODK Collect works
normally.

same problem - I uninstalled ODK collect and KoBo collect, reinstalled ODK
collect and it didn't help
I'm teaching a workshop on ODK in a couple of weeks and really need to get
this to work
thanks!

I had to go into my folders and separately delete the ODK folder that
remained after I uninstalled the apps. when I reinstalled ODK Collect (but
not KoBo Collect) it worked. it seems its a KoBo Collect problem and you
need to get rid of the metadata folder to fix it. (that means you loose all
the forms and data on your device, so make sure to download it before you
delete the folder)

Glad you figured it out, Cynthia!
I know the Kobo team is aware of this issue and I hope they can better
communicate to their users that the two apps are not meant to be run
in parallel on the same device.
