Has anybody tried to lower the photo resolution in order to make it
easier to submit surveys over less-than-ideal connections?
We have been having issues submitting a test survey (from Kenya) with
about eight 3 MP photos attached, but the form with only 1 picture
submitted fine.
The form validated properly on ODK validate.

we just send whatever the camera gives us, so if your camera app can
take lower resolution images, then that's the fastest way to solve
this problem.
i've filed a feature request to make this a preference (see
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/detail?id=308), but it
will likely take some time before we get this added.

We downsize the images taken with Group Complete Mobile. I'll attach a
patch to do this to the issue above. It won't be everything that you
need but it will get you most of the way.

The camera app doesnt have any options for changing the resolution, we will
try the patch.

for the patch. It hardcodes images to fit within 1024x768 at 75% quality.
