Managing students record using ODK

Dear All,

I am thinking if it is possible to use ODK for students' records management. I am planning a project that would enable rural communities without electricity access students information via mobile phones using ODK. How do I uniquely identify each student and how do I store their data in the database so it does double count students?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Joseph,

I think the current generation of ODK tools are not great for doing
what you describe.

The 2.0 generation (http://opendatakit.org/use/2_0_tools/) are in
alpha (not ready for production) but when completed, I think the
bidirectional features there could enable records managment.

If you want something ODK compatible that works today,
http://commcarehq.org might be your best option.
