Missing data

Hi,

Has anyone experienced why data would go missing from the aggregate server?
I have had in the past month data from forms just disappear. I am not sure
if it is a user doing this. Only way I believe this can happen is if a user
has deleted them or if the form was over-written by a newer version. The
latter isn't the case as the XML file carries the correct date stamp

Cheers

Adah

Are you using Google AppEngine?

Is it the form definition, or is it submitted data that goes missing?

How many forms do you have on the system?

How do you know you are missing data?

What version of Aggregate are you running?

Have you migrated or are you using the High Availability data store, or are
you still on the older Master Slave system ( go to
Appenginehttps://appengine.google.com/- it will identify the
datastore there ).

Hi Mitch,

Thank you for your email. In response to your questions below:

  1. It is the submitted data that is missing
2.We have got about 33 forms on there
  2. The data was there a few days back and was actually exported. We also
have a system that maps the data collected in ODK to another database.
these records are on the latter but not on ODK.
  3. We started using ODk about a year ago and used the version at that
time..I think 1.3 or so ( I am not entirely sure about this)
  4. We have not migrated the database.

Many thanks for your help

It is likely that the data is still there. There is no automated process
that could be deleting data records on the system. Only users with Form
Management or Site Admin privileges can delete data records (by clicking
the red X on the data row).

The only mechanism that could cause a data row to 'disappear' would be if
you are running ODK Aggregate 1.3.2 or earlier (the version is indicated on
the Site Admin / Preferences tab). In that case, you could be experiencing
problems due to a change in the structure of Google's unique keys for each
data row. Upgrading to ODK Aggregate 1.3.4 or later will resolve this
issue. See the release notes for upgrade steps
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/AggregateReleaseNotes

It is therefore likely that the data rows are still there, but not showing
for some reason.

If, after you confirm you are running ODK Aggregate 1.3.4 or later, you
want me to investigate, please:
