I am trying to combine the columns-pack no-buttons appearance with quick so that the interviewee just clicks on a button I have put into ODK as an image and it directly goes to the next question. Is this possible?

This should be possible just give it a try.
Yes, you can specify more than 1 appearance. More specifically, from https://getodk.github.io/xforms-spec/#appearances:
...See the XLS Form specification for a list of appearance attributes that are available for each data type. Multiple space-separated appearance values can be added to a form control in any order.
