I was wondering if anyone has had success naming information captured in a
repeat function in a single questionnaire? In the picture below, for
example, we are collecting information all members of a 4 person household.
After completing the survey, when I go to see the nested information for
each household member, however, it shows up as Null 1, Null 2, Null 3, and
Null 4.
Is there a way for me to re-name each "Null" to be the first and surname
that is previously entered into the form?
Hi all, I haven't heard back from anyone on this question, so I thought I
would re-poet it to see if anyone has any thoughts now that a few days have
passed...
Thank you!

Any luck? I am happy to answer any questions you have about how the form
is set up (or hear any alternate ideas!).
Thanks again for your help - I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much, Trung. That is really helpful. Do you know if there is
a way to include the first and last name of each person in the household in
place of hh_Member (1), hh_member (2), etc.?
Thanks!

I don't think it's possible now, but it can be a nice feature to have.
Maybe our team can add that, I can't promise when we can make it though.

Thanks for the quick response. I think it would be great if it could be
added. In the context we are working in, it would be great to be able to
return to someone's information in order to ensure that everything is
correct, and to find them by name is much easier.
Thanks again for your help, and I'll keep an eye out for this update (if it
comes through).
Best,
Whitney

With SurveyCTO, it's become quite common to put field references within the
label of a repeat group, so that the group's instances appear in a more
user-friendly way. For example, something like:
HH member ${firstname} ${lastname}
I don't see why this technique wouldn't also work with the straight ODK
Collect, as I don't think we did anything different for the processing of
repeat-group labels.
Have you tried just putting whatever it is you want -- including field
references -- into your repeat group label? We do that in a number of our
SurveyCTO sample forms and I really don't see why it wouldn't work for you.
Best,
Chris
