Good day all,
I just heard about ODK and as Developer, I was curious to understand how
this Open Source works.
Can anyone advise on how to get started? I would like a brief and quick
tutorial/documentation/advice on how to get into this Open Souce so that I
can Master it then customize it for a specific Health Care Application.

I recommend first trying to use the software in a simple form-design -to-
device data collection -to- aggregation-on-server -to-
downstream-publishing to understand the flow.
The code is all under the Apache 2 license. Community contributions back
to the main source tree are highly encouraged.
To build ODK Collect, you need the ODK Collect project, and the Play
Services project.
Our team uses Eclipse and TortoiseHg
To build ODK Aggregate, see the CONFIGURE.txt in the root directory -- the
one in the uiexperiment (unstable) branch is the most current. The
'default' and 'v1_4' branches are at the stable tip.
The ODK 2.0 tools are in alpha or beta. The active development is on the
development branch. Build documentation is sketchy on these, as they have
not yet stabilized.
Send questions to either opendatakit@ (for user questions) or
opendatakit-developers@ (for software development questions).
These are both managed and read by the core developers; sending to both, or
re-sending, is not a good idea. Weanswer questions that we haven't already
answered or documented within 5 business days, but that can vary depending
upon our workload. If you ask a question that you could find the answer for
by searching the group or reading the documentation, we will often ignore
the post and hope that others reading the list will respond with the needed
information.
