I'm a new ODK user experiencing slow internet in Ghana. It is taking >1
hour to upload a form to formhub and by the time it does so I've inevitably
made changes to the xls. I'm wondering if there are any offline
substitutes. The link to the offline xlsform uploader provided by the odk
website sends me here
It says that it doesn't do validation, though -- so it will only partly
validate your code. (It will convert it to XML and report any errors in the
conversion, but it won't check expressions the way that the online version
will.)
We have an offline checker in SurveyCTO that also validates, but it
requires that you download and install Python. (We're getting rid of that
requirement in our next release, and we're adding the constraint-tester and
expression-builders offline -- so that you can basically do everything
offline except run your actual forms.)
