ODK 1 @TAB calls bring together the Technical Steering Committee to discuss roadmaps, working groups, and other issues of technical governance. Everyone is welcome to come to these calls, but only TSC members may talk.
The calls are held every two weeks in our UberConference room from 16-17 London time. We put the agenda, audio, and transcript of every call in this document.
Our next call will be Wed, 9 January, from 16-17 London time (see in your timezone).
The agenda is tenatively as follows:
- TSC elections in January
- External itemsets, preloading, secondary itemsets
The agenda can also be seen in the agenda document
If there are topics you would like to add to the TSC's agenda, please comment below.
@ggalmazor raised the idea on Slack of perhaps versioning the ODK spec - since it is in fact under constant evolution too - so that perhaps we can refer to a particular "Supports ODK spec version X.Y" when releasing various tools in the ODK ecosystem (Collect, Aggregate, Build, Enketo, etc...).
It could also, potentially, provide a definitive means for deprecating unwanted ODK spec behaviors (if and where that is ever desired). Although how we should go about deprecating stuff in the spec, and as a consequence potentially making some older forms not longer 'conformant', is a topic that probably deserves some good discussion, at TSC level and beyond.
I think it'd be good to get the @TSC:
- Try the log location coordinates PR before the call to see if there is any feedback.
- Review ongoing work on the v0.4.0 of Central to provide context on what's coming next in v0.5.0.
