I have the following setting in environment variable (I am using Windows 7

I am running the appllication using admin account.

The latest bitlocker file has the following information

Log started 10/17/2012 at 12:53:20

I have the latest version of java (JAva version 7 ) installed on my
computer. Has anyone encountered similar problem ?
Please help if you have a solution.

Thanks

Celestine

It may be that your security software has removed execute privileges on the
directories and files in the TMP/TEMP path? Or that it has restricted the
permissions of the installer because it came from the internet???

The installer creates a directory named
ODK-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx (x's are digits and a-f
characters) in this TEMP / TMP directory (your settings for these are fine
-- I have the same settings). The ODK-... directory and everything
underneath should have full read-execute permissions.

When you launch the installer, before you advance past the Welcome screen,
you should be able to use your Windows Explorer file browser to browse to
view that file, e.g.,

C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp

These directories may be hidden, so you might have to type this in.

··· -----------------

Within that TEMP directory (in which ODK-... is created), the installer
will also create a 'bitrock_installer_nnnn.log' file. What does yours
contain?

Here is an example of mine, after advancing to the licensing screen and
cancelling out.

I also had the same problem. but after reading a post by someone in another blog, IT IS NOW FIXED.

To summarize, the solution was to remove the CLASSPATH variable from Advanced System Settings - Environment Variables.

After double clicking on the Aggregate installer, I can now finally see the "Setup" screen.

Please give this a try.
[It is advisable to paste the CLASSPATH Variable definition in a text file should in case you want to revert your changes.]

Do you see the ODK-.... directory while the installer screen is visible?
(It will be deleted after your installer closes).

Are you using the Oracle Java (
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html ) or are
you using OpenJDK ?

When you open a cmd window (Start Programs / search for 'cmd' ), if you
type:

java -version

what do you see?

Try the installer here: http://homes.cs.washington.edu/~msundt/aggregate/

It uses the latest Bitrock installer-builder. I only saw one bug fix in
the Bitrock change log for that tool that might affect what you're seeing.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling Java 1.7 and installing Java 1.6,
and see if it is a Java version issue (grasping at straws...).
I have updated to 1.6 rev 37 (x64), and it still works fine for me (I too
am running Windows 7 Professional).

If it continues to be a problem, the work-around is to use a different PC
or run it on a clean Windows or Linux VM running on your PC. And if you can
figure out what app is somehow causing this to fail, please let me know.
