ODK Central Rejected Submissions

1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.
After the surveyor submits the Form and if the QC guy rejects the form, in my case the form is not going back to the surveyor's device. If the submission is "rejected" or selected as "has issues"nothing is happening.

2. What steps can we take to reproduce this issue?
Go to ODK Central and reject one of the forms submitted.

3. What have you tried to fix the issue?
Could do nothing

this is the correct behavior of Central.
Submission Review States allow you to filter submissions and data editing within central when needed. No feedback to the phone is performed.

I was thinking that the rejected forms would go back to the Surveyors Device for correction.
This is actually the need is there a way?

Not currently. It would be useful to learn more about your scenario:

  1. How are you identifying the need for corrections? For example, are you running automated checks, noticing inconsistencies manually?
  2. Why can't you make the edit? For example, does it require going back to a physical location or require special knowledge that only the person in the field has?
  3. How significant of an edit do you need to make? For example, is it just one field or is there a whole section that needs to be completed again?

Typically today we see these kinds of corrections handled through another medium like a phone call or a WhatsApp message. Someone in the office contacts field staff to ask for a correction and then enter it in from the office. We know this is not always possible or practical, though.
