ODK collect sometimes crashes when handling large xml form files

Dear friends,
I use ODK collect for a small scale survey using Formhub as server side.
The questionnaire is quite large and weighs about 822 kb. However, ODK
collect crashes on some devices in the middle of interview. As a solution I
used two approaches - a) restoring my samsung galaxy tab to factory
settings and b) directly copying form files instead of downloading it from
formhub. Could you advise anything why it should happen?

Best,

D.

Hi David,

It really depends on what is in the form. Try upgrading to Collect
v1.4 r1035. It should have some memory optimizations that could help.
If you can reduce languages, simplify complex logic (e.g., lots of
relevancies), or split the form, that will help. If you have very
large selects, then email me off list and I'll show you how to load
those from a CSV.

Yaw
