Use the App Engine console to see what is going on with your app
engine instance. If you have exceeded your quota it will display it on
the console. https://appengine.google.com/
Additionally, you can use the "Datastore Viewer" of the console to
actually see the data stored.

I tried those, but clicking Admin Console just left me with a box that said
"Create Application", as if I didn't already have one up.
This morning everything magically came back up and I breathed a heavy sigh
of relief. Who would have thought Google could go down?
