[ODK Community] Re: [ODK Developers] Re: ODK 1.4.4 releases now available

Yaw,

Is it a major job to disconnect the Google Maps Engine/Picassa piece from your code submission? Right now it stops and wants a Google Maps Engine project id when choosing Platform [Google Drive, Google Maps Engine]

We are thinking about leveraging your existing code to give an "upload filled forms to Google Drive" capability to ODK Collect for our project. We were going to do a DropBox integration but if Google Drive is already mostly integrated then we will give that a try.

Thanks!
Bob

Hi Bob,

Google Maps Engine has been deprecated so this feature no longer
works. The team at Nafundi is working on an alternative that will ship
soon, but we have nothing to announce at the moment.

My guess is that it bypasses the use of Aggregate for dispensing new forms
and retrieving filled forms to/from Collect by using Google drive... then
once the filled forms are up on Google drive the filled forms data is
somehow the raw filled forms data is injected into making Google maps using
Google Maps Engine and Picassa.

Is this a correct assumption??

Tks!
Bob

ODK Collect

add ability to access form definitions off of Google Drive and publish
forms to Google Maps Engine and Picassa (jointly). Contributed by Nafundi

Hi Bob,

Yes, your team should be able to swap out the GME upload with a Drive
upload easily.

The GME code is deprecated so I wouldn't start from that. Start from
the replacement code that Mitch just merged into trunk
(https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/commit/c7f2195fd3218094acef191139dbbf62367adf2b)
