[ODK Developers] How to extract data from third party application

I will let others try out your app if they wish to.

One answer to your question is yes, ODK collect can launch another app and
take information back via an intent (like the area).

Please refer to the help documentation of Open Data Kit on the ODK website,
specifically launching 3rd party apps is described here:
http://opendatakit.org/help/form-design/examples/
I would also check out the breathTest form in our sample forms:
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/browse?repo=forms

I also suggest searching the mailing list for previous discussions on this
topic.

Also if you need additional help there are companies that you can hire to
help you: http://opendatakit.org/help/help-for-hire/

Hi,

We are using ODK for data collection, recently we have created land
surveyor application and the purpose of the application is to record all
the geo-code via gps of land, calculate the area and finally saved the
calculated area. Now we want ODK application should launch land surveyor
and once user have saved the area then ODK application should read the area
and return it to odk server whenever device is online.

Please let me know is it possible through odk if yes then please share the
example, its really urgent.

Please find the attached apk file with odk data file.
This file will be saved on same location of .xml files without any
extension. This file can be view in any file explorer and not from our
application. File name will be "ODKdata". This will contain coordinates,
area, areaunit, distance, perimeter, and distanceunit in xml format.

Thanks,
John
