Hello ODK Fans and Users,
Sorry about the very forward introduction, I am Manuel, Marine Biologist currently working in Myanmar and soon planning to sail our Research Sailboat further on towards the Philippines.
We are currently working out a plan for massive reef restauration efforts throughout Southeast Asia with lots of help from communities along the way.
However I stumbeled across ODK and had this idea/vision of a worthy thing to do:
I would like to create a list of all the (more common) corals, that can be found in Southeast Asia, so that divers, snorkelers, sailors, whoever is in the area can pick up their phone after a dive and just click pictures of coral they saw during the dive.
Now I am not sure if this is at all possible, I was trying to have a closer look at the tools online, but just as a reference, it took me half an hour to open the contact page (very bad internet out here).
So I was wondering if somebody could help me set something like this up, I am more than happy to provide all the pictures on google drive for use, I would simply like to have access to the collected data - And just to make sure, All of this is without any intention of making profit. It merely means that I can find out where in Southeast Asia which kind of coral is common so we don’t introduce foreign species during our reef restauration tour.
