ODK form saving - need a new look!

I work with a small organization in the South of Haiti using ODK to
collect data about the farmers they are working with. The Androids
they use are not connected to a cellphone network, and the upload the
data via Wifi when they come back to the office about once a week.

One of the troubles they have is when collecting multiple forms in the
phone and then saving them before going back to the office and
uploading, is that the only way to distinguish between the forms is by
the date. They wondered if there is anyway to give each of these
forms a unique name so that in the list of saved forms on the phone
they might be easily able to recognize the form they are searching
for.

Thanks!

Collect 1.1.7 has support for naming forms whatever you want. There is
a text box at the final screen in the form filling sessions where you
can name the form.

Yaw,

Is there any way to pass this info via the xfrom?

Thanks,

Matt

I wanted to open this up again.

Is there any way to pass a parameter from the form to help set the name of
the saved form? Would be extremely useful.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

The issue is filed at
https://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/detail?id=433. Star it to
get updates.

Same old caveats apply. The core team is swamped, so code
contributions would be welcome. Alternatively, if this is something
you need, hire a developer to build it.

This implementation will be good for me too. If you allow me, my suggest is
simple. It could be a specific form fields concatenations like
${sample_01}+${sample_02}. The programer will write it.
