ODK form using imput from compass

Many thanks to the ODK community !

I am just missing one feature on ODK, which is using my phone compas
as one of the informations used in the form.

Our project is to collect agricultural landcover. We go to a field and
collect the type of crop that grows.
But it is not always possible to enter the field, and usually, we
observe it from a track along the field.
The use of the compass would tell us which side of the track is the
field we are surveying.

Is it possible to add this feature to the ODK app, one day ? I do not
think I am able to do it myself...
