ODK Installation error

Hi and happy 2013

My installation fails at the Launch Installation Script step with the
error messages below. The computer is a Macbook running Windows 7 Ultimate
32 bits and Java 7 update 10, with the antivirus off.

When I paralel install on a 64 bit windows Ultimate computer with the same
setup, I don't get this error.

The file I am executing is ODK Aggregate v1.2.0 osx-installer.app.zip
from http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/downloads/list

Please advise on how to get around this problem.

Thank you

I'm confused. You say you're running Macbook, but then say it is a Windows
32 bit installation. Which is it?

Also, I don't see the error message.

If you are running this in Windows operating system (regardless of the
hardware you are running it on), you need to download the Aggregate
installer for Windows (not Mac).

Excuse me, that was a copy-pasting mistake.

The file I install is for Windows (ODK Aggregate v1.2.0 windows-installer),
but I get that error nevertheless

It looks like the installer cannot determine/remember where your home
directory is.

After the script fails and you exit the installer, what happens if you
double-click the .hta file to run it?

Somehow the .hta file extension is not correctly mapped to this executable:
C:\Windows\System32\mshta.exe

Right-click, choose 'Open with', select 'Choose default program...' and
navigate to that file; check the 'Always...' checkbox and click 'OK' to
launch.

Hi Mithc,

I just saw you solved Kelba's problem. I have exactly the same problem but I don't understand the process you're telling him to do:

( Somehow the .hta file extension is not correctly mapped to this executable: C:\Windows\System32\mshta.exe

Right-click, choose 'Open with', select 'Choose default program...' and navigate to that file; check the 'Always...' checkbox and click 'OK' to launch.

Could you repeat it for me as I was a child?

Thank you very much,

Xavi Enrich

In his screenshot, It says that some hta file is not executable. you should
go to that file, right click it, an do shit.

IF you dont have mshta.exe, there is an installer somewhere on microsoft
website.

You need to have Internet Explorer installed to be able to open HTA files.

This is a Microsoft Windows issue -- search their site for this: HTA not
opened
